Junior doctors' induction
The new junior doctors' induction is managed by the medical education team along with medical HR. New doctors rotate into Frimley Health from other Trusts as part of their training. Inductions take place on the first Wednesday of the following months:
- February
- March
- August
- September
- October
Currently, inductions are being completed virtually to reduce the risk of overcrowding. However, the content for the day remains the same:
- Welcome from the Medical Director
- Welcome from the Director of Clinical Education
- HR matters
- Technology enhanced learning
- Library services
- IT registration and training
- Prescribing and medicines management
- Radiology
- Exception reporting
- Verification of death
- Support RRT
- Wellbeing
You will also complete administration such as ID badges and travel/ parking permits.
Each trainee will also receive a departmental induction arranged by their rota coordinator.
Following the induction junior doctors are given a month to complete their Mandatory and Statutory Training (MaST), these topics will be:
- Blood transfusion
- Conflict resolution
- Dementia level 2
- Equality and diversity
- Fire safety
- Health, safety and welfare
- Infection prevention and control level 2
- Information Governance (IG)
- Moving and handling level 1
- Prevent wrap level 3
- Resuscitation level 2 (all trainees)
- Paediatric BLS level 2 (trainees rotating into paediatrics/ ED and anaesthetics)
- Risk and patient safety level 2
- Safeguarding adults level 3
- Safeguarding children level 2 (all trainees) (level 3 required for trainees working in paeds, ED and maternity)
