Centre Facilities – Promoting Excellence in Healthcare
The John Lister Postgraduate Centre is the perfect venue for conferences and seminars. The centre has excellent facilities in a peaceful location overlooking a lake. There is easy access from the M40, M4, M25, Heathrow Airport, Paddington and Waterloo mainline stations. Pay and display car parking is available around the hospital site.

Monday to Friday: 8am – 5pm, 5pm – midnight by arrangement
Saturday to Sunday: by arrangement only

The reception area offers a comfortable lounge area where delegates may relax prior to a meeting.

Clinical skills laboratory
The clinical skills laboratory enables healthcare professionals to practice and develop surgical skills.
The laboratory hosts nationally accredited courses such as:
- AMES (Advanced Middle Ear Surgery)
- APLS (Advanced Paediatric Life Support)
- ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
- BDA (British Dental Association) recognised courses
- BSSC (Basic Surgical Skills Course)
- CCrISP (Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient)
The laboratory is available for hire by arrangement with the Centre Manager

Room bookings
To request a booking please contact the Duty Officer, Mateuz Drechny, via email -Mateuz.Drechny@nhs.net. All bookings must be made in writing or via the Trust’s Meeting Room Booking System (accessible by Trust staff only via Trust intranet).
Provisional Bookings
Provisional bookings will be held for 10 working days at which point the booking will be cancelled unless confirmation has been received in writing.
Terms and Conditions
- It is the responsibility of the function organiser to ensure that the function room is left in a clean, tidy and secure condition. He or she will be liable for any loss or damage to the building, its surroundings or contents, howsoever caused, if such loss or damage occurs during the course of the function.
- The Centre does not accept liability for any loss of or damage to personal property including vehicles. All property, including vehicles, are left at the owners’ own risk.
- Personal items cannot be stored at the Centre prior to or after the event.
- The Centre reserves the right to alter room bookings without prior notice. In this event, every effort will be made to notify the function organiser.
- A completed booking form (electronic)/email confirmation will be deemed as acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
Out of Hours Meetings
- Out of hours bookings may be made by arrangement.
- Keys must be collected from the Centre between 12.30 pm and 4.30 pm. Keys for weekend events must be collected on Friday afternoon.
- The keys must be collected by the function organiser unless prior arrangements have been made.
- The keys are the sole responsibility of the function organiser.
Library services
Library services
The library is located in the Postgraduate Medical Centre.
The Library provides services to Trust staff and healthcare students, on placement, and supports clinical/managerial decision-making, patient care, and educational/staff development needs by facilitating access to books, journals and evidence-based resources in print and online.
All library users are required to complete a Library Registration form. Signing this form indicates acceptance of the library rules and regulations and an undertaking to abide by them.
Membership of the Library Service is free to anyone employed in the NHS locally and students on placement at Heatherwood & Wexham Park Hospitals. There may be restrictions for some groups and charges for some services.
