Frimley Park Hospital said a fond farewell to one of its stalwarts last week as AD for site Fiona Sayers retired after 42 years.
Fiona, pictured centre in a blue cardigan, started her nursing training at Frimley Park in 1980. She went on to hold roles including sister in coronary care, night nursing practitioner and head of nursing for cardiology before taking up her current role.
Her retirement plans include a Mediterranean cruise, visiting her mum in Spain and spending time with her grandchildren.
Colleagues gathered in the operations centre at Frimley Park on Friday to wish her well.
Fiona said she will miss Frimley Health for “the camaraderie and the people”.
She added: “Even if you have had a difficult day, if you have been working with a good team you go home knowing that you have achieved something.
“Some of the people I have met through the years have been amazing.
“I feel very lucky and privileged because I have had the best career ever in the NHS and I will be eternally grateful for that.”
