As you are aware, we’re planning a brand new £25 million state-of-the-art NHS diagnostic centre on an unused area next to Upton Hospital, which will enable faster and easier diagnostic services for the local community.
Location of the new centre
The centre will be developed on an area in the northwest corner of the Upton Hospital site where there are currently some vacant buildings and it will be built as a new standalone facility.
Upcoming building work
As part of this project there will be some demolition work taking place to remove the vacant buildings in the area.
Hoarding is expected to be set up in the coming days as some of the internal works begin and then the external demolition work is due to start at the end of November. The demolition is due to be completed in early 2024 when construction of the new centre will begin. The demolition contractors will make every attempt to minimise inconvenience and disruption during the works. The work is planned to take place from Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 5pm.
If you have any queries or concerns throughout the demolition works, please contact NHS Property Services via their helpdesk on 0808 1962 045.
