Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to receive a special tree from The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) “Tree of Trees” which stood tall as a message of hope, regeneration and optimism to the nation and the world as part of the Platinum Jubilee weekend celebrations.
Frimley Health was one of more than 300 organisations across the UK that were announced by the QGC as recipients of these special trees in the Queen’s name, which were gifted in a pot embossed with Her Majesty’s cypher.
A special event was held at Frimley Park Hospital to see the tree being planted, attended by Lord Lieutenant of Surrey Michael More-Molyneuz and Frimley Health Chief Executive Neil Dardis. Representing the Trust’s 12,000 staff were consultant nurse Suman Shrestha MBE and the recently awarded Queen’s Nurse, community matron Kelly Gray.
Presented by Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, the tree has been planted in a beautifully landscaped garden that is frequently used by patients and staff. The tree becomes part of the living legacy in honour of Her Majesty, joining over a million trees already planted across the UK as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy.
Neil Dardis, Chief Executive, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We are delighted to be chosen as one of the 300 organisations across the UK to receive a lasting legacy honouring Her Majesty The Queen’s extraordinary service to both her country and her people.
“The gift of the tree also recognises the valuable and tireless efforts of our staff which is a fantastic tribute to their hard work and dedication during the challenges of the last few years.”
