Our latest ViPs have been honoured for embodying our shared values of being committed to excellence, working together and facing the future.
Wexham Park ward host Dora Ferreira, critical care doctor Faye Selby and network manager Rob Mitchell were recognised with Values into Practice (ViP) Awards at this month’s Board of Directors’ meeting for the dedication they have shown in caring for our patients and supporting our staff.
Dora was nominated in response to feedback from a patient who wrote: “Dora made my day every morning when she came to get my meal choices. She was always so happy and upbeat that her voice and smiling face gave me a huge lift each day.”
Faye, a junior doctor in the intensive therapy unit (ITU) at Wexham, was nominated by a colleague who found her to be hardworking and approachable. They said Faye’s approach to communicating with patients and their relatives is exemplary, and that she shows both care and compassion during those conversations.
Rob is a network manager in our Digital Services team. He was nominated for a ViP Award by a colleague for the professionalism he shows in providing IT support to our services that are based away from our acute hospitals. The colleague said Rob is always professional, responsive and empathetic despite being under immense pressure, and that even when an issue is outside the Trust’s control he still tries to provide timeframes for solutions or alternatives.
ViP nominations can be made by patients or Trust staff. If you know someone who has gone the extra mile, you can nominate them for a ViP Award through our website.
