We are excited to announce our new Slough Urgent Care Centre is now open for anyone with a minor illness who needs same-day treatment.
The Slough Urgent Care Centre has been launched in addition to existing healthcare services in and around Slough, including pharmacy, GP, and our hospital emergency department and in partnership with the Frimley Health and Care integrated care system.
The Slough Urgent Care Centre in Priors Close is open 8am-8pm seven days a week, providing booked and walk-in urgent care for patients who do not require treatment in the emergency department.
It is designed to provide faster access to urgent care by ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time and in the right place. This will help reduce the number of non-emergency patients coming through Wexham Park’s emergency department (ED) and ease pressure on hospital services.
Anyone attending Wexham Park’s ED with a minor illness may be redirected to the urgent care centre instead, where they can expect high quality care with much shorter waits to be seen.
People who are registered with a GP practice in Slough can access and book ahead through their GP or by calling 111. They can also walk in and be given a booked appointment, and can then either sit and wait at the centre or return at the appointment time.
A walk-in minor injury service is available seven days a week at Bracknell Urgent Care Centre, while the Maidenhead Urgent Primary Care Service offers same-day minor injury and minor illness appointments at St Mark's Hospital for Maidenhead residents, bookable through GPs and NHS 111.
