Contractors for Surrey County Council will be carrying out work on the A325 just outside the Frimley Park Hospital site from Monday 3 June for approximately 2 months. Access will be maintained at all times but lane restrictions and overnight road closures may lead to disruption.

  • The work includes installing a pedestrian crossing for pedestrians crossing Portsmouth Road to and from the Grove School side.
  • There will be lane restrictions in place on Portsmouth Road (A325) and Chobham Road (B311) between 10am and 4pm.
  • The final two weeks of work (approximately 12 August to 30 August) will include an overnight closure of Portsmouth Road to the North East of the hospital roundabout (i.e. no left turn on exit from the site). Diversions will be in place. This is expected to be from 8pm to 6am.

If you are attending an appointment at the hospital please allow extra travel time.

What we are doing

We are carrying out safety improvement works which includes the installation of a signalised pedestrian crossing, widening of footways, surfacing, and kerbing and road marking changes to make it safer for pedestrians to cross the A325 Portsmouth Road.
Map with the stretch of the A325 immediately outside Frimley Park highlightedThe work will take place to the north of the roundabout outside the Frimley Hospital.
Lane closures will be in place on Portsmouth Road and Chobham Road between 10am and 4pm. The final two weeks of the improvement works will be carried out under a temporary road closure at night from 8pm to 6am.
Please talk to a member of our staff on site if you need help – talking to our staff can solve most issues. Access will be maintained to all properties during our works, there may be times when there are delays but the team will advise.
Working overnight is necessary on traffic sensitive roads to reduce disruption during peak times. It also enables longer uninterrupted working before the closure is lifted for daytime traffic, and results in a shorter period of disruption. There will be some noise, but we will try to carry out the bulk of the noisiest works before midnight.
Delays in work
Our work is sometimes delayed by bad weather. We will keep you updated on any changes via the advance warning signs and on one.network
