Are you ready to take on the Run Frimley challenge?
Hundreds of fun runners and serious athletes are expected to take to the streets around Frimley Park Hospital on Sunday 6 May for the annual 10km road race and 2.5km fun run.
And once again organisers are urging participants to raise as much sponsorship money as possible.
Open a Just Giving page and collect at least £50 before registration closes in April and you will even get a free Run Frimley 2018 running vest to wear on the day.
Every penny generated by the event will go towards an appeal to develop Frimley Park’s stroke unit into one of the best in the country.
The Frimley Health Charity’s Stroke Appeal aims to raise more than £750,000 and Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust will provide a further £320,000, creating a total investment of nearly £1.1m in stroke services.
Frimley Park’s stroke unit looks after more than 100 patients each month, and the trust wants to expand it so that patients can have better access to complementary therapies. It also wants to provide more of the latest equipment that will help patients during their recovery.
The plans include creating an outdoor area with steps and special paving, providing an interesting and stimulating environment where patients can exercise and work on their mobility.
Run Frimley’s 10km road race and fun run both start and finish outside the main hospital entrance, and fun runners are once again encouraged to wear fancy dress.
Frimley Health Charity fundraising manager Keith Hanks said: “Run Frimley has built up a fantastic level of support over the years and we are sure 2018 will be no different.
“All the money you raise in sponsorship will help Frimley Park Hospital to continue to offer the best standards of care to stroke patients. It will also help to fund a bigger and better environment in which patients receive that care.”
Run Frimley is sponsored by letting and estate agent Vickery and Company. Registration closes at midday on 26 April. You can sign up at the Frimley Health Charity website.
