Safeguarding nurse Francine Franks was recently honoured with an NHS Safeguarding award for her fantastic work both at Frimley Health and within the national safeguarding team.
Fran has worked at Frimley Park Hospital for 9 years, where she was the first ever safeguarding nurse for the Trust.
As part of her professional development Fran reached out to NHS England for shadowing opportunities within the national safeguarding team and spent 6 weeks working alongside them where she helped to start meaningful conversations between NHS England and safeguarding teams at Trust level, providing them with invaluable feedback.
Rebecca Reynolds, National safeguarding clinical lead said: "Francine actively sought to shadow the national team to develop a greater understanding of strategic system leadership. Francine has offered robust reflections every week, with a certain degree of challenge, championing the voice of named professionals.
"I have seen such passion for safeguarding and its people in the way she is able to articulate the ‘frontline’ voice. Her comments often provided points of clarity as to how operationally some strategic thinking may or may not play out in systems."
