Professional background

With over 20 years of experience as a Consultant in Intensive Care and Anaesthetics, I provide anaesthetic care for patients undergoing surgeries across various specialties, including complex, high-risk cases. I have particular expertise in difficult airway management and am an active faculty member of the Wexham Advanced Airway Group, where I contribute to teaching and training in this critical area.

Beyond the operating theatre, I provide care for critically ill patients in the ICU and am part of the Critical Care Outreach team, responding to emergencies across the hospital, including cardiac arrests, major trauma, and acute deteriorations.

In the ICU, I lead a multidisciplinary team, mentor junior staff and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. I am deeply committed to effective communication and have a particular interest in supporting colleagues in developing skills for handling sensitive conversations, such as delivering bad news and navigating complex care decisions. My goal is to deliver thoughtful, high-quality care to patients while fostering a supportive, collaborative, and respectful environment for my colleagues.

Research interests

Over the years I have actively participated in multiple research projects, and our unit is involved in a variety of ongoing research initiatives. I believe that engaging in research is crucial for advancing evidence-based treatments and improving patient outcomes. Currently, I serve as a local Principal Investigator for a national study, which has allowed me to contribute to the development of new clinical practices and further enhance the quality of care we provide.
