Professional background

I was appointed as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Frimley Health Foundation Trust in September 2024. I work predominantly on the labour ward and in high risk obstetrics including an antenatal clinic for women with diabetes. I also review and treat women postnatally who have suffered with a third or fourth degree tear during the birth of their baby.

Prior to this, I worked as an NIHR Clinical Lecturer and Senior Registrar at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. I completed advanced training in the management of labour ward and urogynaecology. I can provide expert clinical opinion on problems
within obstetrics and gynaecology and my values mirror those of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust; committed to excellence, working together and facing the future.

Research interests

In addition to my consultant role at FHFT, I am a senior lecturer in medical education and the lead for year 2 at the University of Surrey medical school. I have a wealth of experience of teaching undergraduates in both large and small groups, on a range of topics, with excellent feedback on my teaching style. I have been invited to teach doctors, midwives, nurses, paramedics and specialist physiotherapists on high risk obstetrics, intrapartum care and multidisciplinary working. This includes being a member of the faculty and teaching on PROMPT, Pre-hospital PROMPT, ROBuST, Wessex Maternity Academy simulation training days and the Wessex Emergency Medicine Trainee Association (WREMTA) training days. More recently, I was part of the team who designed and ran the deanery interprofessional “Human Factor Olympics”.

I have also been invited to teach nationally and internationally by Nutritank, Menopause Movement and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.

I have extensive research experience including seventeen peer reviewed publications, three book chapters and have presented at numerous national and international conferences; my research focuses predominantly on nutrition in pregnancy.
