Professional background
Ms Salerno trained in Imperial College medical school and South West Thames London deanery for higher surgical training. She has an MD from London university for her research on rectal cancer with the Royal Marsden and Basingstoke group. She completed a fellowship at St Thomas' Hospital and UCLH on laparoscopic surgery, intestinal failure and pelvic floor conditions.
Research interests
She has been surgical tutor for the Royal College and is currently training programme director for core trainees at the Oxford deanery. She is the enhanced recovery consultant lead and is an enthusiastic educator including the lead for support return to training and physician associates from Reading and Brunel universities.
