Professional background

Ms El Kafsi is a Consultant Upper GI Bariatric Surgeon who trained in Oxford, having qualified from Cambridge University and UCL. She completed fellowships in Upper GI and weight loss surgery at UCLH and in New Zealand.

Her specialist interests are in hiatal hernia surgery, obesity surgery, reflux (including LINX procedure) and achalasia surgery. She is the GI Physiology Unit lead for Frimley Health, where specialist tests for reflux and oesophageal motility conditions are conducted.

She is heavily involved in surgical education through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and sits on the council of the national Upper GI associations.
