Specialties

Professional background

I am a consultant urologist with over 20 years’ experience diagnosing and treating prostate cancer. I serve as Prostate Cancer Lead Clinician and Multidisciplinary Clinic Lead, showing my commitment to high standards of care. I completed a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic (Ohio), to refine minimally invasive treatments. I was among the first in the UK to perform Retzius-sparing robotic prostatectomies and focal therapies (NanoKnife, HIFU), pioneering minimally invasive approaches that preserve erections and bladder control. As an investigator in the PART trial, I use these technologies for early prostate cancer. I have published research on Retzius-sparing prostatectomy, demonstrating low positive margin rates, and I teach this technique to international fellows.

After graduating from Guy’s Hospital Medical School, I trained at St Mary’s, Charing Cross, and the Royal Free, then spent two years researching prostate cancer at Imperial College and the Hammersmith Hospital. I offer active surveillance, Retzius-sparing prostatectomy (over 1,000 cases), and focal therapies, taking pride in high patient satisfaction and compassionate, personalised care.

Research interests

My special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, particularly early-stage disease, using advanced techniques that preserve erections and bladder control. These include Retzius-sparing, nerve-sparing robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy and minimally invasive focal therapies such as HIFU and NanoKnife.

I am also an investigator in the PART trial, using these innovative technologies to treat men with early prostate cancer while prioritising their quality of life.
