Heatherwood hospital is an accredited elective surgical hub.
Elective surgical hubs are part of the plan for increasing surgical capacity and tackling Covid-19 pandemic backlogs by creating dedicated centres for ‘high volume low complexity’ surgery.
Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) is a national programme dedicated to improving quality for patients through making clinically led assessments of how things are done then making evidence based improvements.
The patients association together with GIRFT have created this three-minute video for patients using the experiences of people who have had their surgery at a hub. The aim is to help you understand what is involved if you are offered the option to have your surgery at Heatherwood.
