Urogynaecology is an area of gynaecology which focuses on the female pelvic organs (bladder / bowel / uterus) and pelvic floor dysfunction.

This includes urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse (uterus or vagina), recurrent urinary tract infections, bladder pain syndrome and obstetric anal sphincter injury (3rd and 4th degree tear).

We offer face to face and telephone clinics for patient assessment, and other services include vaginal pessary management, flexible cystoscopy, bladder Botox injections, urodynamics, percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation and bladder instillations.

Patients are referred by their GP or directly from our pelvic health physiotherapists.

Before referring you to urogynaecology, your GP may recommend that you are seen by our pelvic health physiotherapists.

Many conditions such as urinary incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse can be cured or significantly improved by this simple intervention. If the physiotherapy is not successful and it is appropriate, your physiotherapist will be able to directly refer you to the Urogynaecology service.
