X-ray (plain film imaging)
Transport
The radiology department does not book transport. If you require transport for your appointment, please contact the referrer. If you have will be arranging transport for your appointment, please let us know so we can ensure the timeslot we give you is appropriate.
Mobility and assistance
If you will require a hoist to get on and off the imaging table please contact the radiology department to let us know. Patients requiring a hoist will usually be given a slightly longer appointment, to accommodate the additional time required for this. For some procedures or scans this may also mean we need to give you an appointment at a particular site.
If you are attending for an x-ray and have significant mobility requirements, please be aware our main sites (Frimley Park Hospital, Heatherwood Hospital and Wexham Park Hospital) are often best suited to accommodate this. While our satellite sites are usually quieter departments, they are also smaller, with fewer staff members being available to assist.
Interpretation / translation services, including BSL
If you require translation services (spoken language or BSL) for your visit / appointment, please contact us before your appointment so we can arrange this.

If you have any concerns about attending our service for imaging, or you have additional needs we should know about (for example you have physical or mobility needs, are hard of hearing, need a quiet place to wait etc), please contact us using the details on the radiology page.
