Be part of research
You can help shape the future of healthcare. Patients across the Trust and members of the public play a vital role in our research.
Research and innovation: For industry For staff
More people than ever before are taking part in research studies, and your involvement is key to improving treatments and helping to save lives. We are very grateful to the thousands of patients who take part in research across Frimley Health each year.
Studies show that research active Trusts provide better patient outcomes. The more patients and volunteers we have involved in research projects means more data collected from our clinical trials. The research will improve treatment in hospitals, and may benefit yourself, your family, or your community in the future.
Patient and public involvement is crucial for the success of clinical research and innovation. This includes highlighting the most important research questions, helping to design research studies, and taking part in the research itself.
Patients can talk to the clinical team about research and if there are any suitable studies at Frimley Health to engage with. For members of the public, the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) has a series of web pages for all questions about research and how to get involved.
There are other ways you can get involved:
- Get in touch to tell us what you feel should be our research priorities.
- Join our patient and public group
- Donate to the Frimley Health Charity to support our research activity.
We get very positive feedback from patients taking part in research. We ask research participants to complete the Patient Research Experience Survey (PRES), which is collected by the NIHR. Those responses help to improve the way research studies are designed and delivered, now and in the future.
