Members health events and Annual Members Meetings
We hold an annual, in-person members meeting- all members are invited to hear reports from the Trust's executive leadership team and others on the work and running of the Trust.
We also hold bimonthly members health events where people can hear from clinicians and other staff about our services and the work of our staff.

Dr Ottilia Speirs is consultant stroke physician, joint acute lead - Frimley and Surrey Heartlands integrated stroke delivery network (ISDN). Ailsa Hutchings is a stroke nurse consultant and joint clinical stroke lead for Frimley Health.

Frimley Health transforms eye services at Heatherwood Hospital
Hospital eye services are in high demand, almost 10% of the national NHS backlog is in ophthalmology with hundreds of thousands of patients across the country currently on the waiting list to start treatment. The eye services we offer at Frimley Health was discussed at our health event, on 28 November.

Skin cancer: diagnosis, management and prevention
Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world and in the UK alone 147,000 new cases of non-melanoma skin cancer are diagnosed each year.
This important topic was the subject of our health information event with presenters Miss Deborah Green and Mr Kuen Yeow Chin, consultant plastics surgeons.

Living with lung conditions
Respiratory disease affects one in five people in the UK and is the third biggest cause of death in England after cancer and cardiovascular disease. Cases are climbing and during the past seven years, hospital admissions for lung disease have risen at three times the rate of all admissions generally.
This captivating topic was the focus of our health information event led by our chief of service for medicine and respiratory consultant, Dr Gareth Roberts. The free event explored the impact of chronic respiratory conditions and the services the Trust provides to help patients stay as healthy as possible. The event also provided advice and guidance on how people can keep their lungs in the best condition when living with a chronic respiratory problem.
Dr Roberts was joined by respiratory specialist nurse, Sally Bustin, who discussed the latest community services on offer for patients with COPD and other lung diseases – including the post discharge rehabilitation programme and the support provided to help patients avoid admission to hospital.

Cardiology
Presented by cardiologist, Dr Peter Clarkson, the event gave a great insight into our cardiology services, the latest achievements that have led to it becoming a centre of excellence and the vision for the future at Frimley Health.
Dr Clarkson was joined by some of his colleagues, Lt Col Andrew Cox and Sister Tara Donohoe, who talked about introducing a brilliant new cardiology service in our community hubs - an exciting initiative that will see GPs given specialist training in low-risk cardiology services - which will significantly reduce wait times for patients, while also freeing up hospital services for more serious cases.
