 Foundation Teaching Programme

The Foundation trainees have a monthly teaching programme which takes place from September to May each year. The teaching is split into two dates per month for the FY1s and two dates per month for the FY2s. The teaching is duplicated so the trainees can attend at least one session each month.

The teaching covers a wide-range of topics and also includes information on careers, simulation sessions and clinical scenarios.

The FY1s also have a weekly Tuesday lunchtime teaching session which is held from 1pm to 2pm in the PGEC.

 Horus E-Portfolio

All Foundation trainees have a Horus e-portfolio where they need to log all of their competencies achieved ready for their ARCPs, which take place in June of each year. The FY1s and FY2s have a checklist of requirements needed to be completed to enable them to pass their ARCP.

Each Foundation trainee will be allocated an Educational Supervisor for the year. They must meet with them at the beginning and end of each rotation and log their meetings on their e-portfolio.

At the beginning of each rotation, trainees will also be allocated a Clinical Supervisor for the department they will be working in. They should meet with them at the beginning and end of each rotation and log their meetings on their e-portfolio.
