Last week Frimley Park Hospital said thank you and goodbye to dermatology nurse Julie Timms as she retired after 43 years in the NHS and 35 years with the Trust.
Julie, who started her nurse training in 1981, has seen the hospital “get busier and busier” as it has changed and grown over the years.
From 1997, she worked bank shifts on many wards, including medical, surgical, orthopaedics, cystic fibrosis unit, special care baby unit and the children's ward, while bringing up her two daughters, Kelly and Charlotte.
Charlotte is a specialist safeguarding nurse in our children's safeguarding team.
Julie joined the outpatients team 18 years ago and then went on to work in phototherapy in the dermatology team 13 years ago.
She said: “I have always loved my role as a nurse and have found it to be a very interesting and a rewarding career.
“I have met some wonderful colleagues, friends and patients along the way; especially my team of dermatology nurses and doctors.”
“I’m going to miss my Frimley family very much, but I’ve decided to leave so I can look after my new granddaughter, Millie, and spend more time with my mum.
“Thank you, Frimley Park, for being an absolute pleasure to work for.”
